Employment

The attorneys in the Employment Law Department possess a wealth of knowledge, determination and experience in employment matters, ranging from counseling to drafting to litigation. Our attorneys represent businesses and assist them in navigating the increasingly complex and ever-changing landscape of laws affecting their business. We are pro-active and alert our clients to changes and developments in the law and advise them how to appropriately adapt and adhere to these changes. Our attorneys advise clients on day-to-day workplace issues, not to mention more complex and intricate problems. We assist clients in developing and implementing policies, practices and agreements to avoid liability and comply with workplace legal requirements.

Our attorneys have significant experience in drafting employee handbooks, employment contracts, severance agreements and non-competition agreements, and we craft agreements and policies to protect trade secrets and proprietary information and to prevent unfair competition by former employees and others. We also provide on-site training to management, supervisors and other employees to help protect our clients against liability and exposure to litigation.

The Firm’s attorneys specialize in litigating employee disputes, including hostile work environment, discrimination, whistleblower and civil rights claims, among others, and many of their cases have resulted in reported court decisions. Our attorneys represent clients before local, state and federal administrative agencies and courts and vigorously defend their interests in resolving those disputes. We also have the expertise and knowledge to assess the strength and weaknesses of a dispute from the beginning, and where appropriate to pursue mediation or alternative dispute resolutions. Finally, our attorneys investigate allegations of workplace discrimination and misconduct.
